About the Central Platte Valley

Located just to the west of Downtown Denver, the Central Platte Valley is a vastly expanding area of renovated shops.

The Central Platte Valley makes up the space that borders Speer Boulevard, to the left; Interstate 25, to the north; 20th Street, to the east; and Union Station, to the south. Auraria borders Central Platte Valley to the west, Highland borders it to the north, and Prospect to its east.

The South Platte River runs horizontally across Central Platte Valley, which was the birthplace of Denver in 1858. Today, Central Platte Valley is home to Commons Park and Confluence Park.

Despite Central Platte Valley's past history as a rail yard, warehouse, industrial and commercial area of Downtown Denver, it grew vagrant in recent decades, forcing a redevelopment plan in the late 1980s. Led by the development of the Riverfront Park project, Central Platte Valley is now utilized again as a mixed-use urban neighborhood, offering many Downtown Denver homes, and more than 3 million square feet of Downtown Denver restaurants, shops, hotels and offices.

Several Denver lofts reside in Central Platte Valley, between the South Platte River and I-25, above neighborhood shops. Central Platte Valley is also home to the East-West Partners' Riverfront Park development, which will offer several Denver housing types, like Denver lofts, Denver townhouses, Denver penthouses, Denver condos, and Brownstones.
