I am proud to be a Colorado native, having lived in numerous cities and towns all over this great state, including the Western Slope. My hobbies include writing, biking and swimming with my wonderful husband and kids, along with Oreo Mint Fudge cookies. Our favorite activity is going to our cabin near Fairplay and hiking and fishing there. We rough it with no electricity, no plumbing and no phones. It's not even a cabin, really - just a shack over 100 years old in the beautiful mountains of Colorado, and we love it!
After I received my Bachelor's degree from CU, I pursued a career in the insurance field. I worked for several insurance companies in several departments for about 15 years. With the love and support of my family, I started my own real estate business. We ventured into real estate in 2000 with investment properties called fix 'n flips. After doing a few of these, we decided it was time for me to get my license and help others make money in real estate. Real estate is an excellent way to invest, and with so many opportunities (even in what is perceived as a 'bad market'), people can still make money. Helping others enjoy the freedom and wealth of real estate investing has become my passion.
Colorado didn't experience the real estate bubble like other areas, so our market isn't featured much in the mainstream media. Homes priced well and in good condition are selling. Interest rates are still at a mind-boggling level, and buyers are savvy enough to use this fact to jump in and purchase their first home or investment properties and take advantage of the government's tax credit.
