The Meeting Of Men - June 2019
StartJun 17
EndJun 17
This Meeting of Men is to support you in becoming the best version of yourself and to hold you accountable to taking action in being that man, day in and day out. Our desire is to support you in unleashing more of your potential by creating daily habits and rituals that results in leveling-up your life. There will be a theme for each gathering which will be expanded upon through guest speakers, conversations in groups, written exercises, etc in an effort to propel your life forward. The objective is to foster an ongoing conversation about common topics that are regularly getting in the way of you being the best version of yourself physically, having work that inspires you and relationships that are supportive and fulfilling. Questions for you... - Are you 30-55 yrs old and focused on living your best life?- Are you willing to take full responsibility for your personal growth and development?- Are you looking for accountability, mentorship and a community to support and challenge you to the highest of standards? If you answered “YES” to these questions, we welcome you to join us for our next meeting! Register on Eventbrite by securing yourself a free ticket. Spaces are limited! Join us on Monday, June 17th from 6pm to 8pm for our Meeting of Men. Optional networking after party, 8pm to 9pm. We have a great private space reserved in downtown called The Boiler Room. We're blessed to have this place reserved to ourselves! You will get a validation ticket at the event3. Upon exiting, scan the original ticket barcode, then scan the validation barcode, which discounts the parking to $5.00 Here are some common FAQ's: Who is welcome? All men are welcome. Whether you identify as Straight, Gay, Bi, Trans, Questioning, Queer or Curious, if you are committed to being your best version and integrating your authentic masculine power, you are most welcome to join us. If you're not accepting of all human beings, this event is not for you. Is there a dress code? No. Come as you are. Many men come straight from work so you will find men in suits while others will come as casually as they please. Come wearing whatever makes you feel most comfortable. Are women & children allowed? No, our meetings are set up to create a safe space for us as men to disconnect for a few hours to focus entirely on our own personal growth. The only exceptions are the event support staff females such as the Boiler Room Event Manager, Bartender, Photographer and my assistant who have all been briefed on how they can best support the smooth functioning of the event while supporting space for us to gather without distraction. Does the event cost anything to attend? No, we realize you're taking time out of your evening so along with travel & parking, we want you to enjoy the evening for free. All we ask is that if you drink, that you do so responsibly since this is one of the ways we offset our costs. Beyond the Meeting of Men, are there other events organized? Yes, I'm constantly listening to the groups needs and planning fun adventures and experiences that will be promoted from time to time. Is this meeting affiliated with any groups or religions? Absolutely not. We are all brothers on the path to becoming our best selves. This Meeting of Men is not affiliated with any governing body other than the one tie that binds us all, that we are human beings and more specifically, men. May I bring a friend? Absolutely. Bring a wingman or two. The more the merrier.

Reclaiming My Life After Loss - A Field Guide to Living with Grief & Love
StartJun 18
EndJun 18
The death of someone you love can turn your entire world on its head.  Your pain can feel overwhelming, your thoughts scattered and chaotic, your life can feel like it's in shambles. And sometimes even reaching out for support can leave you just feeling more misunderstood.  This is not a workshop on how to "fix" your grief. There's no way to "solve" death. But there is a way to make the weight feel a little less heavy, and the mind less chaotic. There is a way to work with supports, to feel a little more in control, and to reclaim your life in a world that doesn't understand what you're going through.  This is not transformation. It's learning to carry our pain and still be kind to ourselves. It's knowing that in and among that pain there is also space for beauty, meaning, and love. This is a field guide to living your life after the death of a loved one.  This is a free event. Just bring your journal or something to write in for two short (and optional) exercises. We'll talk about:The reality of the pain and struggle of grief. The myth of transformation (AKA - everything doesn't have to come out smelling like roses.)How everything in life can feel different and overwhelming, and how to stay safe. How to experiment, explore, and figure out your own survival guide. How to connect with meaning, mystery, and maybe grasp a bit of control among the chaos. How to face what's happened gently and safely, trust ourselves, our minds, and our bodies, and get the help we need.  Presented by Chas Neal, LPCC / Grief Counselor of The Neal Center for Counseling and Yoga Therapy.
